Rather than soda pop serve chocolate, strawberry or vanilla soda made with syrup and seltzer. Economical, fast and fun!
Ice cream alternative. . . frozen grapes and pineapple; chocolate dipped bananas, strawberries and other fruits as well as look for soy and rice milk alternative ice creams in a variety of flavors.
Take the sting out of a bee sting by rubbing a lemon or a bar of soap onto the bite.
If out in the woods, use mud.
Avoid bug bits by rubbing any sort of mint oil onto your skin. If you not available, use babywipes for quick relief from bugs.
To take the ouch out of splinters use sticky tape to remove the splinter (not tweezers) . . . the stickier the better!
In lieu of potato chips, steam soy pods in rock salt. Store in refrigerator and if you like warm, re-heat in the microwave. It fulfills the starch and salt cravings and kids say they taste like potato chips!
Always wash with a nailbrush (80% of bacteria is underneath the nail) and scrub from elbow to fingertips. And remember, it is the motion not the soap.
Place a towel on the floor for a child to keep him or her off the floor or carpeting and to keep the toys and child in their “space”.
To reduce static cling and scent your clothing, place baking soda in a sock with a vanilla bean or with a few drops of pure, natural essential oils in your favorite fragrance. For pennies!
Wash the bathroom mirrors with a mixture of white vinegar, water and chopped citrus. Great scent and no streaks!
